Change of Plans

Okay, okay its been way too long since I've written anything on here.  Not that anyone is reading it.

I've been doing a lot of thinking...life....things.  1st the dating world sucks!  It sucks the big one!  I've think I've had it......for a while on dating.
2nd I'm changing my major.....yes I'm 30 (something) and I'm trying to figure out what I want to be when I grow up.  Well I've decided I can no longer work with people with disabilities.  I did for over 11 years and I'm either burned out or because of my husband's mental illness I just can't do it anymore.  So I'm going into Criminal Justice.  Now, now I've thought about this a LOT!  I hope to become a Probation Officer.  I think I've got the street smarts for this type of position.  I worked with several PO's with my past position and had a feel for it.  Now I just have to get my act together of what is all required for this new goal.  It will take time since I'm paying for school myself but I'm going to get it done.  So now I've said it and I'm going to continue to move forward from this day on.  Wish me luck!  Okay if the "right" guy comes along I might give him a chance.

I'll try and do better by putting more thoughts into my blog.

PS-I met a guy and he told me that I was attractive enough to pick up guys, however I'm not approachable anyone know what that means?  Just wondering.......

To Date....or Not to Date....that is the question.....

Okay, so I've got several friends who want to set me up on dates.  I'm trying to decide if I'm really ready to date.  I mean I'm a SINGLE Mom (remember widow) I'm going to school (part time only) but do I want the drama of a man in my life right now?  I'm kind of used to the 8 year old boy drama do I want man-drama? 

I know it would be nice to have someone to share life with, go to things with, talk too, but I'm not sure........

Then there are the issues of your dead husband.  I mean my husband really burned me BIG time before he died so there are these trust issues.......and dealing with some other guys Ex-Wife??? Not sure if I could handle that one.  Or other kids????  Not sure how that will go.....

Uuug and to be rejected by someone.....

Any thoughts????

Snow

Okay, so it's GroundHogs day.  Did he or didn't he see his shadow?  I heard he did!  Wooooohoooooo 6 more weeks of winter.  Yah right!  I live in Minnesota.  We hope all the snow will be gone by May.

It is snowing as I type this.  We've gotten about 3 new inches it's pretty but it's causing big problems.  Traveling on these roads aren't fun!  Oh well what do we expect.  Lots of my family are traveling to warm places in March.  That's what we do here in Minnesota travel to warm places for a couple weeks and come back all refreshed and ready to handle the snow for a several more weeks.  I am NOT going any where nice and warm this year.  I'm okay with that I prefer to be cold then hot any day.  However I do miss the ocean. 

I'm taking a Saturday class this "Spring" which I find funny they call it "Spring" when it's over before Spring starts.  They should just call it what it is WINTER!  I'm not sure what I was thinking when I took a Saturday class it's FOUR hours!!!  I guess I am really crazy!

Life has been good. I've had a few friends try and set me up on "dates" however I'm just NOT interested or ready not sure which.  I figure I've got my son and school and that's about all I need.  Dealing with some man and his issues isn't the DRAMA I want in my life right now.  I met a man that was 42 and has NEVER lived with a woman other than his own Mother.  I find that difficult to deal with.  He has got a LOT to learn.  No thank you!

Okay, so I babysat my brother's two kids last night.  This was so he and his wife could attend his company Christmas party.  So I had 3 kids last night.  The boys were wild (ages 4 & 8) and the baby (3 months) was pretty good.  After 2 hours of the boys "playing" fighting more like it I had to put a movie in just to get them to SIT DOWN!.  Anyways the plan was for me and my son just to stay the night.  My brother and his wife took a cab to this party (6pm) and did not get home until 5 am.  I'd really like to know what in the world do you do until 5 in the morning?  It's not like they're in college they are both in their 30's.  YIKES!  At least they took a cab! When their baby work up at 6 am they were both snoring so loudly they didn't hear her.  Geez I thought my shift was up.  So I have been up since 5 am!  When the boys got up I had them stay quite, however by about 8:30 I didn't care anymore how loud they were.  3 hours of sleep is plenty!  Heh heh.

So now on ward to the rest of the weekend.  I didn't drink and I still feel like I have a hangover.  I HATE that!  I've registered for a new class and I'll be going into school Saturdays.  12-4pm.  I hope I'll like it.  I wish it was earlier but then I'm glad it's not so I can sleep in (yah, right).  Oh hum.  My plan to just have an on-line class has ended I'm going into class.  I'm not 100% happy about this.  As you know it gets MIGHTY cold here in Minnesota.  At least I won't have traffic to deal with.  BONUS!!!!

Happy New Year!! 2010

Happy New Year to all!!

What a year 2009 was.  I'm not going t get into details about it, but all I can say is I'm looking forward to 2010!  Wooooowhoooo.

So, Christmas is over.  That was a busy event.  Lots of little kids.  Don't get me wrong it was fun and loud but it is nice when it's over.  I got the honor of picking up my 102 year old Grandmother.  She is a hoot.  She still lives on her own and drives her own car.  She is set in her ways and doesn't like to change her ways, so you just agree and go on.

We got TONS of snow this Christmas so my Dad aka. Grandpa built a HUGE pile of snow in the backyard so the kids aka. Grandkids can make a snow fort.  The pile is about 8 feet high and has a big hole in it.  About  6 little kids can fit in it.  They had a blast.  However now with all the kids sleding down the big pile of snow looks like one big BOOB in the backyard.  It's got this little tip on the top.  I find it funny, along with my sister and two of my brothers.  Oh well so now we call it the Christmas BOOB!!!

Monday.....again?!

Okay, so it's Monday.  Woke up to about 4 more inches of snow.  Which is great for Christmas.  I think we've got a total of 10 inches of snow.  It's been kind of cold so we haven't gone sleding......yet.....  Have to wait until it's at least 15 out or it's just NO FUN.

I'm almost done with classes for 2009.  I'll start my on-line class in January.  This will be new to me, never had an on-line class before.  Looking forward to it.

I've got my Christmas shopping done!!!  All is wrapped and under the tree.  I just wish my son would stop ASKING for more stuff!!  Oh well I guess it's his job!

December Brrrrrrr

Okay, so I know I live in Minnesota and YES it gets COLD, but then that also means I have EVERY right to complain about it.  It's 3 degrees outside right NOW!!!  That's just crazy!  We got abotu 6 inches of snow yesterday and it really sucked driving home.  It normally takes me 20 min well yesterday it took me over an HOUR!!  I did give a woman the finger. She was so close to my car that I couldn't even see her hood just her face!  When the roads are full of ice and the traffic is moving 20 mph you don't ride someone's butt.  Geez the nerve of some people.  Anyways we're getting ready for Christmas my sister and her family are flying up from Texas and I get to go and pick up my 102 year old Grandmother.  By the way she's 102 still lives on her own and drives!!!  She is a HOOT!!  She was a flapper in the 20's which the pictures are too cool!
